First Aid Only Antiseptic Cleansing Wipe (sting Free), 50-Count Boxes (Pack of 12) Reviews
These are sold by First Aid Only, but the packets themselves are labeled Dukal Corporation, Hauppauge, NY 11788, [...], and are marked "Made in China". There is a different reorder number on the packets, M309-1200, whereas the boxes are item H307.br /br /These arrived this week (10/09) and expire 05/14, so theoretically they are good for almost 5 years.br /br /The active ingredient is Benzalkonium Chloride 0.133% w/v. The only inactive ingredient listed is distilled water (they don't list the material used for the pad, but it seems like strong paper). According to wikipedia, Benzalkonium Chloride is used in many products, including wet wipes, eye washes, and nasal sprays, though its safety in some of these latter products is suspect.br /br /The package itself suggests they be used as a washcloth, for "antiseptic cleansing of face, hands and body without soap and water." Like handi-wipes you sometimes get with fried chicken? But without the lemon scent. However, the dukal website says, "Our alcohol-free formula ensures sting free cleansing for all minor cuts, scrapes, and burns, especially on sensitive skin."br /br /Each pad measures 7 3/4" x 5 1/8" x 0" (approx.) when unfolded and are packaged in foil packets measuring about 2 1/4" x 2" x 1/8" (approx.).br /br /They are typical of what you'd get in a first aid kit, not super moist, so you might need more than one for all but the smallest abrasion. I recommend including a small bottle of water and some cotton balls in your kit if possible, as that's probably better for washing most wounds. But these are handy to carry when out (e.g. hiking) and some may prefer to use something with antiseptic properties (assuming the Chinese manufacturer delivers as promised).br /

Very gentle. I don't know how well it cleans compares to alcohol wipes. But no sting when using it.
